MERRY CHRISTMAS!

Joy to the world!

For unto us was born this day
In the city of David,
A Saviour
Which is Christ
The Lord!

Christmas is here!

Glory to God in the highest!
And on earth, peace,
Good will toward men.

From my home to yours,
May your celebration be blessed,
Your gifts be many,
And your life be filled with joy!

And may the spirit of this day
Carry throughout the coming year!

Gail…

It has been a long and lovely Christmas day…and our guests have just departed. There's a fairly big snow on the way—6-8 inches, so tomorrow will be wonderfully white. Today was just a great day with family, including four dogs! Merry Christmas!

George…

Thank you so much for your always kind words and friendship. We've had a really great day here on the riverbank amid an abundance of food, family, and fun. That's really the greatest gift—to have another opportunity to spend Christmas surrounded by love. I hope your day was every bit as joyous. Merry, merry Christmas!

Thank you. I thought about you up there in Chicago today, and hope you had a wonderful Christmas—one which filled your heart to the brim with a full measure of the season's special joy. Merry Christmas!

Hope you had a wonderful Christmas, Grizz. Love how the branches of the pine tree are radiating out from the cardinal. Makes me think a little of a sunburst!

Kelly…

Thank you…we did have a truly wonderful Christmas.

Re. the pix—what you're seeing is the bottom (stump) end of last year's Christmas tree laid horizontally on the ground near several feeders, as a handy refuge from weather and hunting Cooper's hawks. I recycle my threes this way every year. BUT…did you also notice the white-throated sparrow just to the right of the cardinal?

Thinking of you, LadyLove and Moon.... Merry Christmas! Hope you're safe and sound, warm and dry by the river. We did not tempt fate coming to Ohio for our usual family holiday celebration; we figured the forces of nature were conspiring against us and we had better pay attention! Here's wishing you all there a terrific 2013!

Giggles…

We did have a wonderful Christmas.

And just so you know…you probably made a wise decision in choosing not to be on the road, particularly if you'd have had to travel yesterday (26th), as there was a fairly moderate semi-blizzard hereabouts. We received maybe 7 inches of snow, though nearby areas got up to a foot. The storm pretty much encompassed all the state and took up most of the day. Good road conditions today, however; temperature at the moment: 29˚F.

Various birds are busy at the feeder, five GB herons in sight feeding in the river. All is well along the riverbank.

Merry Christmas to you and yours! (Write when the spirit moves you.)
