Thank you very much. I am so blessed. She has the birthday…I got the gift.
Today is not only her birthday—which we celebrated last night with family at dinner—but our anniversary, which we just got in from celebrating together, again at dinner.
Happy Birthday to your LadyLove, Grizz, and Happy Anniversary to you both. I know of your radiance from your postings, and I can now see an equal radiance in the eyes and smile of your Ladylove. A fine match, I would say. May you both have many more years together.
Ahhh--Scribe. Very sweet. I have learned over the years that there is NOTHING that can compare to a loving companion. So glad you have yours--and she you. And I am glad and grateful I have mine.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY/ANNIVERSARY!!! What a surprise to see a real live person behind the "ladylove"moniker. Great photo capture of smiling eyes. May you both have a happy holidays.
Thank you…and I apologize for being so slow to respond, but we got in late last night.
I do think we're a fine match, as I know my own shortcomings—which are many—and know Myladylove almost perfectly fills in those gaps. She's as committed and strong a life partner as anyone could ever ask. Part of her radiance is, most assuredly, the love she has for me—for us and our life together—but also for life in general; she radiates a real joy from within. Of course another part of that radiance comes from her portion of Cherokee blood which knows she has my number and can doubtless whip me whenever she wants.
You're quite right…nothing beats sharing life with that complete package of partner, companion, lover, friend, soul-mate. I don't think many are lucky enough to find that perfect match—but when you do, it is the greatest of blessings.
Thank you. And, yes, we are not just figments of our imagination—we do exist, quirks, predilections, and all. Though in my case, the truth can be sorely disappointing…I'm much smarter, braver, and better-looking in my own mind.
Thank you—and believe me, I've known that since the first day she fixed those big luminous eyes on me and my heart stopped as I melted into a waxy puddle. But the honest truth is that the inside is even more beautiful. A far better person in every way than I could ever hope to become. I am very blessed.
Oh, I'm late, I'm late, for a very important date!!!!! Congratulations X2!!!! She's beautiful!! What a lovely picture. Here's to many wonderful years ahead!!!!
Thank you, on both counts. I tell her she's beautiful, she shakes her head and says I'm silly and smitten. But she is, beautiful, inside and out…and I'm so fortunate that she's willing to share her life with me.
Thank you. Myladylove had been known far and wide for those laser beam eyes, which can stop you in your tracka and make your hair smoke and your ears twitch at fifty paces. You have to be pretty good at sneaky to get away with much around her!
Actually, we spent our anniversary at mid-day dual doctor appointments (just our yearly check-ups which got postponed from the original day until yesterday) then she going back to work while I did errands and back home. We had dinner together in the evening, though.
I believe we think of ourselves more as lovebears than lovebirds—and quite enjoy that distinction.
Myladylove is high-strung, volatile as a firecracker, given to loud volume, is easily startled, quick to react, has perfect pitch and an incredible alto voice, and bakes a terrific apple pie. Lord love her, she's about the noisiest thing you ever took into the woods—in spite of growing up in the Southern Highlands of eastern Tennessee, and living on an island in Alaska for several years; you can't sneak up on a rock without shusshing her a few times. But she'll spend a November week in a primitive bush camp on Lake Superior, with the weather alternating between sleet, snow, and rain the entire time, gathering wood, feeding the fire, and come back home saying and feeling like she's had a fine time. What she sees in me is a mystery…but I love her dearly and am blessed by her every single day.
We did…and thank you. But the good parts were taken in portions from the mundane (see my comment to Jain) with her working unto evening, dual doctor appointments in the early afternoon, errands, work here, the usual blah, blah, blah stuff…and about 6:30 p.m. an anniversary dinner at a nearby restaurant; then back here where she did some Christmas stuff, I did some work, and we both called it quits about 11:00 p.m. We had a similar day Sunday, but celebrated her birthday in the evening with my daughter and son-in-law at a different restaurant, then to their house afterwards for cookies, buckeyes, and other fresh-baked goodies. We do lead an exciting life, huh?
As I clicked on the link to your blog, a thought flashed through my mind, "It would be so nice to get an image of your ladylove". And what do I find as I scroll through the posts I had not read! She's gorgeous! Please convey my belated birthday wishes to her. My belated anniversary wishes to you both, and my belated Christmas wishes too. Oh dear oh dear too many belated(s)! I do apologize for my tardiness. I visit blogs much less freqently than I used to.
Have a wonderful New Year celebration, and may the year ahead be full of love, laughter, and joy for you and your Ladylove (well at least for this I am in time lol)
I'm so pleased you stopped by to see us on this Wren Day. Don't worry about belated…it's the wishes and thoughts and lovely words that count. I thank you and Myladylove thanks you.
We had a fine Christmas. Today, my fellow-father-in-law, Rich—a warm friend and delightful family member, who recently moved off to Florida, came over and spent the latter half of the day with us—and we've enjoyed his visit immensely.
Like you, it seems that lately I've had a hard time getting around to many blogs—but as a friend once said, "when you get too busy to visit friends…you're too busy!" So I'm going to try and do better in the months ahead. (That's not a resolution, but an intention, BTW, because my history of resolution-keeping is abysmal.)
I hope you have a great New Year—that the coming road is filled with love and life and laughter.

Thank you, from both of us. I don't know what I'd do without her—honestly.

Thank you. And just so you know, I haven't forgotten—one day I'll put of a few shots of the lovely necklaces she makes.
Glad she (and you) had a wonderful day!
